A youth chased and caught by a garda has been remanded for sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on April 21st. Jonathan Devoy (18), Leo Fitzgerald House, Dublin, pleaded guilty to stealing a carphone and assaulting Garda Martina Noonan occasioning her actual bodily harm on July 10th, 1995.
She was bitten twice on the arm and kicked by Devoy when she caught him after the chase. Evidence of the offence will be given at the sentence hearing.
