A 19-year-old man has admitted killing two Polish men in Dublin two  years ago.

David Curran of Lissadel Green, Drimnagh pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Pawel Kalite (29) and Marius Szwajkos (27) on February 23rd, 2008 on Benbulben Road in Drimnagh.

However the State has not accepted his plea and a jury has been sworn in at the Central Criminal Court to try him for the men’s murder.

His 21-year-old co-accused, Seán Keogh of Vincent Street West, Inchicore, Dublin pleaded not guilty to the double murder.

The trial before Mr Justice Liam McKechnie was due to begin today but has been adjourned until tomorrow morning.

The five women and seven men of the jury were told it could last up to three weeks.
