Five yachtsmen had a lucky escape when their craft hit rocks off the west coast.

Five yachtsmen had a lucky escape when their craft hit rocks off the west coast.

They were competing in the night-time Round Aran race and had to abandon ship off the coast of Galway when their racing yacht hit rocks early on Saturday morning. The men, all believed to be experienced sailors, made it to land after they launched their lifeboat and then raised the alarm.
