Madrid - EU Commissioner Ms Loyola de Palacio said yesterday she was worried by a German proposal for a future federal Europe because it implied a less prominent role for the European Parliament and Commission.
"Frankly, I view [the German proposal] with some concern. It not only suggests suppressing the parliament in its current shape . . . but the Commission too, which is the other great institution of the Union, Ms de Palacio told the Spanish newspaper El Pais.
