Munich - The world's biggest beer party, Munich's famed Oktoberfest, finished yesterday after a fortnight of merriment with consumption rising and more people passing out from excessive drinking.
The 6.4 million visitors to the 184th annual festival drank 5.2 million litres of beer during the 16-day tribute to Bavaria's best-known beverage, downing a lake of beer brewed for the event that was 100,000 litres larger than last year.
