Worker killed by rockfall

A digger operator was killed in a quarry in Co Cork yesterday when he was crushed by a rockfall on to the cab of his machine.

A digger operator was killed in a quarry in Co Cork yesterday when he was crushed by a rockfall on to the cab of his machine.

The accident happened at around 2.30p.m. at Raffeen Quarry near Monkstown. The man - whose name had not been released last night by gardai - is understood to have died at the scene.
