The Irish Osteoporosis Medical Council and the Irish Countrywomen's Association have started a campaign to educate women about the degenerative bone disease, which now affects more than half of Irish women over 70.

The campaign, which is being sponsored by Premier Dairies, will advise women on how they can prevent the disease.
