Two women had to be rescued from Lough Corrib this morning after getting into difficulties near the shore of the Galway lake.
The young women were brought to Oughterard Pier by a local boat after the alarm was raised soon after midnight.
Both women received treatment for hypothermia and were brought to Galway University College Hospital.
One of the women has since left hospital.
