Four travellers, all members of the same family, with an address at Belgard Road, Tallaght, Dublin, were jailed for one year each by Judge Patrick Smith at Trim Circuit Court, Co Meath, for the burglary of the homes of two pensioners in June 1995.

Mary(30), Anne (64), Mary (35) and Anne Connors (21) were arrested by Enfield gardai after two separate burglaries in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, and Corry, Co Westmeath.

The victims, aged 71 and 82, were both terrified by the events, in which a child had participated.
