LONDON - A Canadian woman who claims she was slapped round the face by the soccer star Paul Gascoigne said last night she had approached Gascoigne, who was with Chris Evans, to tell Evans how much, she enjoyed his radio programme.

Ms Diannah Dean (27) subsequently reported the alleged incident to police. "Gazza appeared through the sunroof and without speaking slapped my face," she said last night.
