A woman pedestrian knocked down by a lorry in Derry has died in hospital, police said last night.

A woman pedestrian knocked down by a lorry in Derry has died in hospital, police said last night.

The 44-year-old was struck on the city’s Victoria Road at around 10.30pm on Saturday night. She is the seventh person to die on Northern Ireland’s roads since the weekend.

In the worst crash, four Portuguese men were killed when their car collided with a lorry on a road outside Newry.
