Gardaí in Tipperary today began an investigation after the body of a woman was found in a laneway in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.
The woman, who was in her early 50s, has not been identified.
Her body was discovered shortly before 5pm in a lane near Ballyporeen.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau examined the scene later this morning.
