A 50-year-old woman has been remanded in custody after appearing in court today charged with the murder of a man in a Co Down caravan park last weekend.

Lana Teresa O'Neill of Brookhill Avenue, Belfast appeared at Newtownards Magistrates' Court this morning charged with the murder of Francis Saunders last Sunday.

Mr Saunders (47), was found dead in a caravan at the Bryansburn Caravan Park in the seaside town of Newcastle. He had died of stab wounds.

Ms O'Neill was remanded in custody to appear again in court on September 21st.
