Detectives in Cork are questioning a woman in connection with the fatal shooting of a man (42) at Dromiscane last night.

Detectives in Cork are questioning a woman in connection with the fatal shooting of a man (42) at Dromiscane last night.

The woman was arrested at the scene shortly after the shooting at 9.45pm and is being detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Kanturk Garda Station. She can be held for up to 72 hours from the time of her arrest before being either charged or released.

Dromiscane is about eight kilometres from Millstreet.

The scene is being preserved for technical examination, and a postmortem is due to be carried out later today by the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster.
