A 26-year-old woman has admitted dangerous driving causing the death of a woman and injury to her husband in Co Sligo last year.

At Sligo Circuit Court today, Aisling Cummins admitted causing the death of Karen Mounsey (54) and serious injury to her husband James on August 28th, at Drumfin, Riverstown, Co Sligo.

Cummins, from Courthouse Drive, Grange, Co Sligo, pleaded not guilty to a charge of drink driving on the same date.

The couple were driving in a van from their home in Riverstown to a restaurant they ran at King House in Boyle, Co Roscommon. Mrs Mounsey was the driver and her husband was passenger.

Judge Anthony Kennedy remanded Cummins on bail until July 12th.
