The 49-year-old woman who was found dead outside a house in Roscommon town yesterday afternoon has been named locally as Ann Henry.
The mother of two grown-up sons was found slumped on the road outside her house at Abbeytown. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s was detained and is currently being questioned at Roscommon Garda Station.
The woman’s body has been removed for a post mortem which will take place today .
