Woman killed in road accident

A young woman was killed yesterday morning in Co Limerick when a van was in collision with a car.

A young woman was killed yesterday morning in Co Limerick when a van was in collision with a car.

The dead woman was a member of the travelling community, and was named as Mrs Kathleen Delaney-Quilligan, in her early 20s, with an address at Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary. She was dead on admission to Limerick Regional Hospital.

Her husband, Michael, and her baby son, John, were also removed to Limerick Regional Hospital, but were later released. The driver of the car, a woman, who was not named, was taken to hospital suffering from shock. The accident occurred at 9 a.m. at Ballynoe Cross, Ballynoe, Newcastle West, on the Newcastle WestTipperary road.
