A woman in her 50s has died in hospital following a road collision in Co Mayo last night.
Two cars collided at about 9.20pm on the N26 Foxford to Ballina Road, some 5km outside Foxford, at Sraheen.
The drivers were the only occupants of the cars and both were taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, for treatment. The second driver's injuries are described as not life-threatening.
Garda forensic collision investigators have examined the road.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident or anyone on the road between 9pm and 9.30pm last night to contact Swinford Garda station on 094-9252990.
