Woman injured in Roscommon robbery

An intruder is being sought by gardaí after he attacked the wife of an officer at a house in Co Roscommon.

An intruder is being sought by gardaí after he attacked the wife of an officer at a house in Co Roscommon.

There is no description of the attacker who was wearing a balaclava when he broke into the house in Donamon, around 12km outside Roscommon town, just after midnight.

The Garda officer was at work when the assault took place and his wife is believed to have suffered minor injuries.

It is understood she was treated by a GP while it is believed the intruder escaped empty-handed.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact Roscommon Garda Station.
