Woman hurt in Co Derry attack

A 41-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after being injured in a petrol bomb attack in Coleraine last night.

A 41-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after being injured in a petrol bomb attack in Coleraine last night.

The woman received burns to her legs when her home in Wheatfield Gardens was attacked.

Her five-year-old daughter was also in the house at the time.

Police said the front window was smashed at about 10.30pm and a petrol bomb was thrown into through the broken window,  igniting next to the woman.

The woman is being treated in hospital. Her daughter was unhurt.

Two men were seen running away from the scene and the PSNI is seeking to establish a motive for the attack.

Police in Coleraine are investigating.
