Detectives in Britain arrested a woman on suspicion of manslaughter and child neglect today after two young brothers were killed in a house fire in Sussex, a police spokesman said.

Officers from Sussex Police's major crime branch arrested the 29-year-old, who has not been identified, after talks with the Crown Prosecution Service.

Taylor and Lewis Jenkins, aged five and seven, died in a fire at their home in Eastbourne last Saturday.

The cause of blaze is under investigation, although police say it was not started deliberately.

The boys' mother was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. Police would not confirm that the woman in custody is the mother.
