Woman held after Co Cork post office raid

A woman has been arrested following an armed post office robbery in Co Cork this morning

A woman has been arrested following an armed post office robbery in Co Cork this morning. She has been taken to Bandon Garda Station.

At around 9 a.m. two armed raiders, who were wearing balaclavas, entered Farran post office on the main Cork to Macroom road.

They fired one shot from a shotgun during the robbery, but no one was injured.

The raiders escaped with an estimated £8,000.

A garda helicopter is due assist the search for the raiders in the Donoughmore area.
