TAMPA - A 58 year old woman became the surrogates mother for her daughter and son in law, giving birth to her own grandson, hospital officials said yesterday.
Mrs Diana Ugenti gave birth on Friday to Shawn Erik Kihn, weighing 2.9kg (6lb 9oz). She took estrogen and progesterone hormones for several months to condition her uterus for carrying a pregnancy that was the product of her daughter's egg and son in law's sperm.
Her daughter, Mrs Donna Kihn, had suffered 10 miscarriages.
