A woman (21) is due in court today charged with murdering a Polish man in Co Down.

A woman (21) is due in court today charged with murdering a Polish man in Co Down.

Marek Muszynski (40), from Newry, was discovered in a pathway in Newry city centre near the swimming pool in the early hours of Tuesday.

The woman was last night charged with murdering Mr Muszynski as well as robbery.

A 16-year-old male was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. It was linked to an earlier assault on another man in the Monaghan Street area. Both accused will appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court this morning.

A man appeared in court last night charged with murdering Mr Muszynski. Adrian Gregory Cunningham (18), from Lisgullion Park, Newry, is accused of the killing at Upper Edward Street between July 5th and 8th.

He appeared at Newry Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody to reappear at the same court via video link on July 22nd.

A 44-year-old woman was released on police bail.
