A woman has died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a head-on crash, gardai said today.

A woman has died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a head-on crash, gardai said today.

The 66-year-old was a front seat passenger in one of two cars that collided on the N25 at Ballyduff West, Kilmeaden in Co Waterford

Both cars were travelling in the opposite direction at around 6pm yesterday.

The woman was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital with serious injuries and she later died.

The drivers of both cars were uninjured.
