A 34-year-old woman has died in a crash in Co Wicklow.
She was found dead in a car at 7.50 this morning near Blainroe Golf Course which is on the Wicklow to Brittas Bay road.
The woman was later named as Deirdre Bolger, of Harbour View, Wicklow Town.
"Gardaí became aware of the collision at 7.50am when alerted by a member of the public that a car was a ditch there," a Garda spokesman said.
He said it was unclear what time the single-car crash happened at and that the incident was under investigation. The woman’s remains were taken to Loughlinstown Hospital, he added.
The was closed for technical examination and motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible. Anyone who may have travelled this road since midnight have been asked to contact gardaí.
