A woman has been killed in three-vehicle crash in Co Louth.

A woman has been killed in three-vehicle crash in Co Louth.

The collision took place on the Termonfeckin Road, Drogheda at about 10.20am.

The 27-year-old woman was a rear seat passenger of one of the vehicles. A number of other people were injured, none seriously.

The road has been closed for a forensic examination.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Drogheda Garda station on 041-9874200, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda station.

A total of 129 people have died on the State's roads so far this year, according to Garda statistics.
