A woman in her 30s has died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Limerick.

A woman in her 30s has died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Limerick.

The crash happened on the N20 Limerick to Cork road at Banoge, Croom, when the woman's car hit a tree. She was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The road was closed between Croom and Charleville.

Meanwhile, a woman has been left in a critical condition following a crash in Mullingar yesterday morning.

The injured woman, a passenger in a silver Audi A4, remains in Dublin's Mater Hospital following the single vehicle collision on the west bound carriageway of Mullingar By Pass at Greatdowns, The Downs, at 8.30am. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Gardaí have today named the person killed in a crash at Gortnaglogh, Kilconnell, Ballinasloe, on Tuesday as Mary Johnson (41) of Kilclooney, Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
