A woman has died in a house fire in the North today. A police investigation into the cause of the fire at Quayside Close, in Newry, Co Down, is under way.
The alarm was raised at around 7.45am by a neighbour out walking his dog who saw smoke coming from the house, said police.
The woman, understood to be in her 50s, was unconscious when she was taken from the house by firefighters and she died soon afterwards.
