Garda detectives have launched a murder hunt after a young woman was stabbed to death in Dublin's city centre early this morning. The woman was attacked as she was walking on Herbert Place, by the Grand Canal, at about 12.50 a.m., according to Gardai in Harcourt Terrace station.

The area remained sealed off early this morning as gardai carried out a forensic examination of the scene and searched for the murder weapon.
