Woman dies after car hits wall

A woman received fatal injuries when the car in which she was a front seat passenger collided with a house wall at Cooroe Heights on the Macroom side of Ballincollig, Co Cork, at 5.50 p.m., yesterday. The 22-year-old woman was taken to Cork University Hospital where she died later.The male driver of the car, a red Peugeot, was last night being treated at hospital for injuries which were understood to be not life-threatening.Gardai have appealed for witnesses and anybody with information to contact them in Ballincollig at 021-871222.
