Woman charged with daugters' murder

A woman appeared in a British court today charged with the murder of her two teenage daughters.

A woman appeared in a British court today charged with the murder of her two teenage daughters.

Rekha Kumari-Baker (39) of Stretham, Cambridgeshire, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court.

She spoke only to confirm her name, age and address and was remanded in custody following the short hearing. The case will next be heard at Cambridge Crown Court on June 22nd.

Davina Baker (16) and Jasmine Baker (13) were found dead at their mother's home early on Wednesday. Post mortem tests showed that both had suffered multiple stab wounds, police said.

Ms Kumari-Baker did not enter a plea to murder charges against her. She is accused of killing her daughters at her home in Stretham, Cambridgeshire, on Wednesday.

Ms Kumari-Baker was arrested at her house shortly after police arrived on Wednesday morning.
