A WOMAN and a baby boy have been killed in road incidents in Leitrim and Laois.
The 22-month-old baby boy died yesterday morning from injuries after being struck by a car in the Coillín Buí estate, Moate, Co Westmeath, at 1.45pm on Saturday.
He was taken to Mullingar General Hospital before later being transferred to Temple Street in Dublin where he died yesterday.
The collision is under investigation.
On Sunday night, a 25-year-old woman was killed in a single vehicle crash at Drumard, Dromad, Co Leitrim.
The woman died when the car she was driving crashed at about 10pm. She was the sole occupant of the car.
Her body was removed from the scene to Sligo General Hospital where a postmortem examination is expected to be carried out.
