A 91-year-old woman has been attacked and robbed at her home in Belfast.

The victim was held down by four masked men who broke into her house in the Lisburn Road area of south Belfast through a rear window last night.

One of the raiders put a hand over the pensioner's mouth before she was threatened.  The thieves ransacked her home, taking cash and benefits books, and fled.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The woman, though quite shaken, made her way to a neighbour's house to raise the alarm. She was treated for shock by paramedics."
