An elderly woman died when a fire broke out in her house early yesterday.
Ann McCormack (76) died in the fire, which was discovered at about 1.30am at her home in Loughrea, Co Galway.
Her husband Kevin and their young grandson were in the house at the time.
The youth was brought to University Hospital Galway for treatment for smoke inhalation.
