A 32-year-old woman died after being hit by a car as she crossed the road at Balrothery, Balbriggan, north Co Dublin at 2.40 a.m. yesterday. The woman was married and living locally and was believed to be walking towards Balbriggan from Balrothery Cross when the incident happened.
Gardai were not expected to release her name until today as relatives in the UK had to be contacted.
