A woman has died following a road crash in Co Cavan this morning.
Therese Mc Gowan, 29, from Oldcastle, Co Meath was struck by a vehicle on the N3 between Virginia and Cavan at about 10am. She was brought to Cavan General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man was arrested in connection with the crash and taken to Cavan Garda station. He was later released without charge pending further investigation.
Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the incident, and are appealing for anyone who may have been on the N3 between Cavan and Virginia between 9.45am and 10.15am to contact them at 042 9694570.
