Witnesses to garda shooting sought

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information about the shooting of a motorcycle garda in Dublin last week.

Paul Sherlock (34) was shot in the stomach on Ossory Road, off North Strand, when he stopped two men travelling in a stolen car on Tuesday, September 25th.

The father of two has since been released from the Mater Hospital.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who saw the car, a silver Nissan Almera, registration number 02 D 68111, prior to the shooting.

They also want to speak to anyone who may have seen a small white van in the area of East Wall that the attackers are believed to have used to escape after abandoning the Almera.
