Witnesses to fatal injuring of motorcyclist sought

Gardaí at Ballyheigue, Co Kerry, have appealed for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision at about 6.35pm on Sunday, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old local man.

The collision involved a motorcycle and a car.

The motorcyclist, named locally as Kevin Hare, a single man, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee. No one else was injured. The road remained closed for much of yesterday to facilitate a Garda examination of the scene and diversions were in place.
