Gardaí tonight appealed for witnesses to a Co Wicklow road crash which left a 16-year-old boy dead.

Gardaí tonight appealed for witnesses to a Co Wicklow road crash which left a 16-year-old boy dead.

The teenager was killed when the car he was travelling in veered out of control and struck a telephone pole on the N11 at Ballinacor East early on Sunday morning.

A 20-year-old man was also injured in the collision and taken to hospital for treatment.

Gardaí investigating the crash urged people travelling on the stretch of the road between Jack White’s Pub and Lil Doyle’s Pub on the N11 around the time of the incident to contact them.
