Wildlife interests have, "formed a steering group to devise an "oil spill action plan" in the wake of a spill which affected the coast of Dublin and north Wicklow last September.

The group, co founded by a Wicklow vet, Mr Pete Wedderburn, hopes to "debrief" all those who dealt with last year's incident and ensure an organised response to any future spills. It also intends to compile a list of volunteers and to produce a booklet on the subject. Those interested can contact Mr Wedderburn at the Animal Hospital, Old Conna Avenue, Bray.
