The abolition of exam fees should be part of any reform of the Junior and Leaving Certificates, the president of the National Youth Council said yesterday. Ms Jillian Hassett said this could help the Minister for Education, Mr Martin, to realise his goal of increasing the participation rate at Leaving Certificate level from 84 per cent to 90 per cent in three years.
