Taking place tomorrow, the annual Durrus Fete is set in the gardens of the local rectory, with a host of children’s entertainment, live music and stalls selling local baking. Transport to the rectory is also provided by West Cork Rural Transport. durrusfete.ie

Dublin – Joyce

The James Joyce Tower in Sandycove, the setting for the opening of Ulysses, is open Tues to Sat, 10am-1pm and 2pm to 5pm. It includes a collection of letters, photographs, and personal possessions owned by Joyce. dun-laoghaire.com

Tipperary – Heritage

The Nenagh Heritage Centre is located in the former governor’s house and gatehouse of a large 19th century gaol. Part of the exhibition includes a classroom from 1913, a local shop from the 1960s and an Irish diary showing butter making. Open Mon-Fri 9.30am-5pm. tipperarynorth.ie
