What's on this weekend

Science Week

Science Week

There is a Discovery Festival Everyday Experimentation event at the Merchant’s Quay shopping centre in Cork today from noon to 3.30pm, entry is free. In Mayo, see “super foams, disgusting slime and a fire-breathing dragon” at the Mayo Science and Technology Festival tomorrow. The mayhem starts at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, at 1pm.

Ireland v Fiji

Thomond Park hosts the Flying Fijians tonight for their friendly international against Ireland. Get terrace tickets for two adults and two children for €30. Kick off is at 5.30pm.

IFI French Film Festival

If the last French film you saw was Betty Blue, skipping lectures for a matinee with Beatrice Dalle, it’s probably time you saw another. While this afternoon’s IFI screening of the 1986 classic, introduced by Ms Dalle herself is, not surprisingly, sold out, there is plenty more on offer at the institute’s French Film Festival, until next Sunday.
