West Dublin train derailment causes delays

Road and rail services were disrupted in west Dublin after a train derailed early this morning.

Iarnrod Éireann said a track maintenance vehicle derailed at Coolmine Level Crossing at about 3am. There were no injuries.

However, the the 5.45am Connolly to Maynooth service was cancelled, as was the Maynooth to Clonsilla leg of the 6.27am Maynooth to Pearse service.

Services from Maynooth, Sligo and Longford into the capital are now operating normally. servicea are operating normally.

The Coolmine Road, which was closed for a time, reopened just after 8am at the Coolmine level crossing.
