Waterford car parts plant to shed 82 jobs

Eighty two jobs are to be lost at a car parts manufacturing plant in Waterford city, it was announced this morning.

Honeywell said the redundancies were part of a restructuring plan to secure the plant's future.

The redundancies affect the factory formerly known as Garrett Ireland at the Waterford Industrial Estate.

The company said it would take steps to ensure the redundancies were voluntary.

Honeywell has shed over 100 jobs in the last 18 months.
