London - The British water industry yesterday rejected claims the water supply in southern England could be responsible for cases of CJD, a human brain disease which has been linked to "mad cow" disease. The denial followed concern that leaking of liquid waste from cattle remains into a well could be behind the unusually high concentration of victims of the brain disease in Kent.
