Teenage sniper Lee Boyd Malvo (18) was jailed for life without parole today for his role in the Washington area killing spree that killed 10 people.

Jamaican-born Malvo was sentenced a day after his accomplice, John Allen Muhammad, was given the death penalty.

Judge Jane Marum Roush imposed the sentence on Malvo during a brief hearing in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Malvo was convicted of murdering FBI analyst Linda Franklin outside a Virginia shop.

The pair's killings began on October 2nd, 2002, when the two shot a man (55) outside a supermarket in Maryland. The following day, five people were killed in the Washington area - four within  about two hours.
