LIMA - The Peruvian Congress, heeding calls by feminists worldwide, voted overwhelmingly this week to repeal a law dating from 1924 that allows rapists to go free if they marry their victims. The law also allows all perpetrators of a gang rape to go free if any one of them marries the victim.
