Beaumont Hospital in Dublin has issued appeal for members of the public not to visit the hospital unless absolutely necessary due to an outbreak of norovirus – commonly called the “winter vomiting bug”.

Thirty per cent of patients reporting to the A&E in recent weeks displaying symptoms of the winter vomiting virus.

The Hospital has warned against the risks of Norovirus to patients generally, and those with serious underlying medical conditions
in particular.

The hospital has appealed to the public for their support in observing the following restrictions.

Only essential visits should be made, by lone visitors, and between 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Children should not visit under any circumstances.
